Returns

Returns in the Paxon API are represented in two stages: the return authorization and the processed return.

A return authorization is used to announce an expected return before the goods physically arrive at an Paxon warehouse. It describes which items from a shipment are expected to be returned, in what quantity, and for which return reason. A return authorization can be created by the API user, for example when a customer registers a return in a webshop or customer service system.

A processed return represents the actual goods received and handled by the warehouse. Once the returned items arrive, Paxon processes the return operationally. The resulting return records describe what was actually received, accepted, rejected, damaged, or otherwise handled. Where possible, processed return items can be linked back to the original return authorization items.

Use v3/returnMerchandiseAuthorizations to register, change or withdraw an expected return, and GET v3/returnItems to see how the warehouse processed the returns it received.
