What does the Active Ants Bol.com connector do?
The Active Ants Bol.com connector ensures that, by means of obtained API keys (client and secret, available in the Bol dashboard), we can log in to Bol.com and retrieve orders that are intended for us. As soon as these orders have been processed, we update the order status again at Bol.com.
We can also use it to update the stock levels at Bol.com to match our stock levels in Maya.
Where can I find the app?
The Active Ants app is not publicly available and can only be obtained on request.
What is needed to connect both systems?
Active Ants requests the secret and private Bol.com keys. We need these keys to be able to retrieve orders. Next, a connection is set up with the ShopAPI of Active Ants and both systems can communicate with each other.
What happens after the connection is made?
First, it must be checked whether the internal reference (Bol.com SKU) matches the SKU in Maya. If not, this must be aligned.
Next, the orders intended for Active Ants will be retrieved and processed. It is important to do this using a separate order type, so that, for example, the correct Bol.com packing slips can be included. Once the order has been packed and shipped, a message is sent back to Bol.com and the buyer is informed via Bol.com.
How are stock and products synchronized?
It is optional to synchronize stock between Bol.com and Active Ants. If you do not do this, keep in mind that items without stock in Maya will never be retrieved. The advantage of this is that you do not receive penalty points from Bol.com because the orders have already gone to the fulfilment party but are delivered too late.
The product link means that existing/new products that are created in Bol.com are synchronized with Maya. If you do not have the product link, you must manually check whether the products are identical (internal reference and SKU in Maya).
It is also important to know that if your product in Maya is not 100% identical to the product in Bol.com (for example, in terms of capitalization), we can process the order in Maya (because Maya is not case sensitive), but the order can never be confirmed as completed in Bol.com (because Bol.com is case sensitive).
What is the step-by-step plan with the client?
- The client provides the secret and private keys of Bol.com to Active Ants.
- Account, order type, packing slip and BasketPic are configured by Active Ants in the meantime.
- The client checks whether the SKUs are identical (if there are no SKUs in Maya, the client consults with their account manager on how the products should be imported into Maya).
- Next, a date/time for the connection is agreed upon and Active Ants will set up the API connection.
- On the go-live day, the client sets all orders that do not need to be shipped by Active Ants to “shipped” in Bol.com.
What are the specifics?
- Bundle products must be configured in Maya. The connector checks whether there is sufficient stock of the underlying products.
- If an order is partly processed by Bol.com and partly by Active Ants, our connector looks for FBB and FBR in the order line. In the order line at Bol.com, it always says FBB or FBR (Fulfilment By Bol / Fulfilment By Retailer). As Active Ants, we only read the order lines with FBR.
- There is an escape regarding stock checks and continuing to sell goods without stock at Active Ants. In that case, we can disable the stock check. This is not standard and must be requested separately from Active Ants.
FAQ
How does the stock sync between Bol.com and Maya work?
There is a stock check beforehand to see whether we are allowed to process the order. If the stock level in Maya is 0 or negative, an order will not be retrieved. You must monitor your stock levels yourself.
If you do have a stock link, Maya synchronizes the stock levels with Bol.com.
Why are my Bol.com orders not visible in Maya?
There can be several reasons:
-
No stock in Maya:
There is no stock of the product in Maya. The connector blocks orders from Bol.com without stock in Maya because it results in penalty points for the seller at Bol.com if products are sold but cannot be delivered. -
No stock for bundle components:
There is no stock of one of the underlying bundle products (see also point 1). -
SKU mismatch:
The Bol SKU (internal reference) is not identical to the SKU in Maya.
Can I continue selling and shipping from my own warehouse alongside Active Ants?
No, at the moment you have two choices per product at Bol.com:
- Sell via Bol.com and Bol.com does the fulfilment (FBB).
- Sell via Bol.com and you do the fulfilment yourself (FBR)—in this case, that is Active Ants.
My shipped orders are not updated in Maya
Check two things:
-
Other active API:
Is there another active API (custom API) that syncs shipments without filtering shipments by order type? -
Product identical in Maya and Bol.com:
Check whether the product in Maya is identical to the product in Bol.com (capitalization).
If you have checked the above and it still does not work, contact itsupport@activeants.com.
My products are not updated in Maya
-
Is there an active product interface?
If not, items must be updated manually in Maya. -
If there is an active product interface, there can be several causes:
a. The EAN already exists.
b. The product name is longer than 255 characters.
c. The internal reference is not filled in.
