Lightspeed
Which Lightspeed versions does Active Ants support?
The Active Ants Lightspeed connector currently supports Lightspeed eCom (C‑series) only.
How does the Active Ants Lightspeed connector work?
The connector is based on an app built by Active Ants that creates a fulfilment link between a Lightspeed shop and MAYA for both products and orders.
Products are stored by SKU, and orders are stored by Lightspeed order number.
EAN codes can also be forwarded to Maya when adding products in Lightspeed and Maya.
Where can I find this app?
If you are a Lightspeed user, the Active Ants App is available in the official Lightspeed App Store.
Before installing the app, grant Active Ants access to the partner page (invite automatisering@activeants.nl).
What happens after I install the app?
An Active Ants developer must first make an order type available before the installation script can run.
The developer will also manually import all Lightspeed products.
When the client installs the app, a script runs that searches for a link with an order type in Maya.
Installation is successful once the script has completed.
After installation:
- All paid Lightspeed orders are automatically forwarded to Maya.
- Newly added products are immediately added to Maya.
- SKU, EAN/Barcode, and Lightspeed IDs are stored (Lightspeed IDs are saved in Maya's Extra 1 and Extra 2 fields).
How are stock and orders updated in Lightspeed?
After installation, a developer creates a special task in Maya that performs real‑time updates whenever:
- Stock changes occur in Maya.
- Orders are shipped.
Stock updates from Maya to Lightspeed use the Lightspeed ID fields (Extra 1 and Extra 2).
Specifics
- Multiple languages and multi‑shop are not supported. Each Lightspeed shop/language links to a single order type in Maya. For international shops, set the main Lightspeed language to English so packing lists show English product names.
- Special shipping options (collection points, timeslots) are not default. You can activate the PostNL App for service point or timeslot delivery, but an Active Ants developer must link the service point option in the database.
- Product bundles are not standard in Lightspeed but have been tested using the third‑party “Product to Bundles” app: https://www.lightspeedhq.nl/ecommerce/store/apps/product-to-bundle/
- Multi‑warehousing is possible. Contact itsupport@activeants.com for the correct procedure.
- The default shipping detail is a track‑and‑trace link. If you prefer to receive only the parcel code, request a setting change via itsupport@activeants.com.
Step‑by‑step plan for the client
- The client enters or updates the product catalogue in Lightspeed so each product has a unique name and SKU.
EAN/Barcode is preferred but not required.
For products with variants, ensure each variant has its own unique name and SKU. - Active Ants configures the account, order type, packing list, and BasketPic.
- Once the catalogue is complete, Active Ants checks the fields.
Products are initially loaded into Maya via a Lightspeed export and Maya import.
(When exporting, ensure all fields are included and forwarded to Active Ants.) - If everything is correct, the shop receives approval and a go‑live date is scheduled.
- On the go‑live day, the client marks all orders not to be shipped by Active Ants as Completed in Lightspeed.
- The client installs the app from the Lightspeed App Store.
The connector for new products and orders becomes active.
Active Ants enables the task for stock and order status feedback. - Already‑paid orders can be manually re‑triggered by:
- Adding an empty note, or
- Bulk‑editing them to “Waiting for payment” and then back to “Ready for shipping”.
This can also be used to test the connector.
- Once the first order is successfully forwarded to Maya, the fulfilment link is complete.
